Sometimes, one can feel like a skeleton, as if time has stripped everything away and left behind a quiet longing. But my skeleton, set against a bright backdrop, is at least colorful – blazing red, deep blue, sunlit yellow, emerald green, and shadowy violet. It stands not merely as a reminder of impermanence, but as a bittersweet song of life’s fragile, vivid dance.

Axel Sverke Vindenes (born 1986) is the frontman and vocalist of the Bergen-based band Kakkmaddafakka. Since 2013, he has been working with oil on canvas, mentored and advised by Arvid Jarle Pettersen—professor, artist, and former rector at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Vindenes grew up in Bergen, where he currently lives and works when not on tour with the band.

Together with Kakkmaddafakka, Vindenes simply wanted to do something cool—they just wanted to make great music. At its core, it’s really about challenging pretentiousness and just doing things that bring joy!
