In the kitchen, bathed in a warm, gentle glow, the dog sits watching its owner with eyes full of expectation – in that way only good dogs can. The brushstrokes capture the atmosphere of a home, where the scent of food and loyal companionship turn the moment into a quiet, joy-filled symphony.

Axel Sverke Vindenes (born 1986) is the frontman and vocalist of the Bergen-based band Kakkmaddafakka. Since 2013, he has been working with oil on canvas, mentored and advised by Arvid Jarle Pettersen—professor, artist, and former rector at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Vindenes grew up in Bergen, where he currently lives and works when not on tour with the band.

Together with Kakkmaddafakka, Vindenes simply wanted to do something cool—they just wanted to make great music. At its core, it’s really about challenging pretentiousness and just doing things that bring joy!
