"Commute"

We’re often on our way somewhere.

On the way to work
On the way to a loved one
On the way to grandma
On the way home

The destination is often the reason for the journey.

In my case, there have been many trips and destinations over the years. Countless hours in the backseat of a car, in a train carriage, or on a plane. The journey itself can sometimes feel like just a stretch of transport — but, as in life, the journey is a vital part of the experience.
There’s so much beauty to take in, if you just lift your gaze and look out.

Meet the eyes you encounter with a smile — and stay curious.

So many places — and so many different ways to live a life. Observing others on their journey can be both enriching and inspiring.

I carry far more memories than photographs.
But the moments captured here have now been given eternal life — or an eternal journey, if you like.

Safe travels.

Sune Eriksen (49) has a long-standing career as a photographer and director, creating intimate, authentic, and timeless work. He is passionate about food, cars, wine, and travel – and thrives most when these interests intersect with his photography and film assignments.

You can see his work every Friday in the magazine D2, in the column “Mitt Kjøretøy", which he has run together with Karl Eirik Haug since 2010.
For many years, Sune also contributed regularly to Carls Cars Magazine. His photographs have also been featured in international publications such as Wallpaper and Monocle.

In addition to editorial work, he is heavily involved in branding for major Norwegian companies and produces compelling stories as a film director.
